Ok things are getting better now that I've finally got use of a program that I've actually taken classes on and know a lot about. Adobe Illustrator CS2 not only can do instantly traced lineart, but it's got a very good pen tool that automatically snaps to curves as you do it. The strokes are simple to change and the livepaint is a good way to color without screwing up your lines which is a possibility in other programs. Hopefully this can get me off on the right foot. I think there's already a huggggge improvement.
